Coffee Club successes keep brewing

PIOPIO College Trust Coffee Club supports 14 Piopio College students for their successes and endeavours in 2021,
a result of enrolling some 45 memberships at $5 per week, over the past 18 months, the Piopio College Trust Coffee Club has been able to provide additional financial support for some 14 College students for their achievements during the 2021 year.

Prior to the establishment of the “Coffee Club” initiative the College’s Trust fund was only able to provide, from interest from Term Deposits and a small number of annual donors, support for the Dux, Runner Up and Founder’s Scholarships.

“To be able to support these additional students in their endeavours and success’s, in such a wide range of achievements in NCEA, Arts, Culture and Sport as well as enabling the corpus of the Trust to grow has been most gratifying”, said the committee of the College’s Trust Fund.

“As for all students in rural areas of NZ, their participation in Arts, Drama, Kapa Haka, Sports and Academic achievement comes with additional expenses for them and their Whanau in travel, accommodation, equipment etc. that their urban counterparts do not have to face.

“The Trust is most grateful for the support provided by our 45 members to date, ex-pupils, whanau and local businesses, including that from some former international students and Piopio residents."

“With this successful outcome after just one year, we look forward to growing the Coffee Club’s membership, so as to yet further expand the support we can provide for present and future College students and staff”
