Piopio Lions Club update January 2025

The Club met in December for a Xmas BBQ at the Aria Domain with a good number of members and partners coming along. A very relaxing enjoyable evening.

Once again the club was able to put on the annual Xmas Dinner and had a great turnout. The catering was done by a team of school students overseen by Lisa Lyford and a group pf parents. This team was raising funds for their trip to Japan. The Club was extremely impressed with the efforts of the caterers that we donated an extra few hundred dollars on top of their account.

Once again a big thank you to Trae Aitkin for entertaining us with his music.

The Club is about to sponsor a student to the Hilary Outdoor Pursuits Centre and will look at sending another student later in the year.

Recently the food caravan has been at the Aria School Orienteering day, Piopio School Pets day and the Xmas parade evening.

There is a chance that we might be back at the Fieldays this year. Organisations that might want to assist us please keep this in mind.

The club is still looking for someone who would like to cook their meeting dinner, once a month, approximately 20 people – meat and three veg – nothing too elaborate. If interested please contact Gavin Todd – 021 08700545 or Ross Smith 027 2851703.
