Jo Gallagher Exhibition - Mokau Museum

Jo Gallagher Exhibition - Mokau Museum
Date: Friday, 2nd March to Thursday, 5th April 2018
Location: Mokau Museum

Mokau Museum is set to feature a collection of artworks from Local Artist Jo Gallagher , from 2nd March to the 5th April.

Living in the small King Country settlement of Piopio provides Jo with rich visual and personal influences. Her home is in an area of dynamic rugged landscapes, rural strength and warm-hearted people.
Jo works primarily as a contemporary realist but more recently she has begun to add another layer of interest into her compositions – that of humour! Using native birds and animals as both object and subject enables Jo to voice her interest in the idiosyncratic and distinctive world we live in. The characters she feel best able to represent, the fun there is to be had with language, symbolism and entrenched beliefs are all present in her current body of work.

Jo exhibits in galleries throughout New Zealand and her work is held in private collections both here and internationally.
Jo will have a selection of original work, framed and unframed prints available for purchase in the exhibition.
