Aria Primary School - Pet day with a difference
Aria School attempted several postponement dates for this year’s Pet Day without success. However, we were not about to be beaten so we held Pet Day on-line.
Students were given guidelines and a sample video format to follow before submitting their individual videos showing them leading their pets and answering a few questions about their care and rearing.
Students with lambs, goats or calves could also enter the best dressed animal event. Themes ranged from summer sunbathing to farm and camo attire.
We included a section for “Other” pets which was well supported and rather funny, especially a student leading a hen.
Other activities judged were Playdough creations (playdough was delivered to all students) and Seeds (we gave the children dwarf beans to plant about seven weeks ago) grown in an ice-cream container.
Somewhere in the middle of all this chaos the staff shared a video of “How not to do it”. This involved staff dressed as a cow and a goat being lead (dragged) around a ring on all fours!
