Further Success for Piopio Riders

Te Kuiti and Districts Pony Club rode to historical success placing third overall out of 27 teams of six riders competing at the North Island Show Jumping Championships on the 19th and 20th of January in Cambridge. The winning team was Whangarei.

Our seniors competed exceptionally well. Clay Harris placed 1st in Accumulator, 2nd TAM3 2 phase, 6th in TAM6. Storm Harris riding Irish Foxtrot was placed 5th in TAM3 and TAM3 2 Phase. The pair placed 2nd in the Jigsaw.

Our speedy junior riders were also able to score valuable points – Sophia Smyth riding Onetai Hot Gossip came 5th in TAM6, Tessa Bradcock riding Allie Bell was 9th in TAM3 2 phase and the pair placed 2nd in the Jigsaw.

Intermediate riders, Shelby Carey riding Remi, and draft rider Taylor Beal from Tuakau rode really well throughout the competition. There were approximately 54 riders in each section.

It was a mighty effort from our little club and a huge thank you to our parents and supporters who gave their precious time to make this team successful. This annual event is a highlight on the Pony Club calendar.
